Where is Thaiwoo?

Thaiwoo Ski Resort is located in Chongli District of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, to the northwest of Beijing and east of Zhangjiakou. It is about 220km from Beijing. Invested and developed by Chongli Thaiwoo Lifestyle Properties Co., Ltd., the large-scale integrated Resort is located within the key area of Chongli as well as of the 2022 Winter Olympics events.
Apart from an ideal skiing destination of international and professional standards, Thaiwoo offers much more to demonstrate the real charm of mountain life. Master Planning

Thaiwoo Ski Resort is invested and developed by Chongli Thaiwoo Lifestyle Properties Co., Ltd. The Resort covers a total area of 40 km2 and an investment of over RMB20 billion will be made throughout the development phases.

With a total area of 400 hectares, Thaiwoo Ski Resort has 200 planned ski trails amounting to staggering 138 km in length. The proportion of ski trails for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced skiers is an ideal 3:4:3. With 45 lifts/gondolas and 21 magic carpets planned, 38.23 km of transportation will take you anywhere you want to go.

Thaiwoo Ski Resort will have two base camps: the 1st base camp (primary camp) area consists of Yingcha, Prince Town and Kuyangshu Area, where integrated skiing and service facilities will be built. The 2nd base camp consists of Upper Shuiquan, Lower Shuiquan and Yaoziwan Area, where more intermediate and advanced ski trails will be developed and club-like services will be provided.

Phase I Development

In Phase I development of the Resort, the total land use area is about 300 mu (about 200,000 m2) and the total floor area is about 250,000 m2, with a total investment of about RMB4 billion. 28 ski trails totaling 20km have already been built. State of the art snowmaking is in place to cover 72 hectares of slopes, which are connected by 4 high-speed lifts and 11 magic carpets.

The Phase I ski areas were put into use at the end of 2015 and will be fully completed for use by the end of 2018. Many supporting facilities have been planned and developed including a cluster of hotels amounting to a total floor area of 170,000 m2 and a landscape lake, logistics and service area, pedestrian streets, SPAs, a mini theater, Peak Restaurant 2160, Alpine Lodge and so on, which will offer you an authentic holiday experience featuring North American lifestyle.

Your First Camp

The primary base camp – the 1st Base Camp of Thaiwoo covers a floor area of 1.2 million m2, including the main snow beach/hotel area, West Base private accommodation area, South Base snow beach/hotel area, family zone, youth streets, logistics area, mountain conference center and golf course, ski-in/ski-out mountain villa area, 1 large-scale landscape lake and 1 landscape belt.

A total of 103 ski trails are planned for the 1st camp base. The ski trails total a length of 69km and an area of 215 hectares, which are connected by 24 lifts. Most of the facilities within this camp base will be accessible on skis/snowboards.

Swift and Convenient Access

A swift and convenient traffic network will make it easy for skiers and holiday birds from all around the world to reach Thaiwoo Ski Resort. Currently there are the G110 National Highway, Beijing-Tibet Expressway (G6), Beijing-Urumqi Expressway (G7), Zhangjiakou-Chengde Expressway that are available for reaching Thaiwoo. It takes about 2.5-3 hours to drive to Thaiwoo Ski Resort from Beijing.
